    In this role, you will report to the Senior Finance manager and will be part of the NYT International finance team who are responsible for the financial accounting and statutory reporting for multiple entities within the EMEA, AMER and APAC regions.

    Prepare and submit VAT declaration for local entity and non-resident entity (The New York Times Company) in France and UK.

    Prepare required VAT data to external service providers for European VAT declaration (5 quarterly and 4 monthly submissions).
    To be the main point of contact for any VAT queries raised by employees and tax authorities
    French Entity Accounting (15%)
    Prepare payment vouchers for Accounts Payable process (VAT payable, taxes, office rent, approx 10 per month)
    Prepare month-end closing journal entries including fixed asset depreciation
    Prepare annual business taxes submission (company car, TV etc)
    Prepare assigned account reconciliations and resolve any reporting queries
    Coordinate with banks in France for banking operations such as signature changes, inquiries, update authorized signatories etc
    Support local employees on accounting inquiries
    Assist with the year-end closing and year-end audit
    Upload and maintain the multicurrency bank transactions monthly

    General Accounting (50%):

    Invoice reconciliation for the different reporting units
    Invoice preparation from the head office to the individual reporting units
    Financial statements review (annually)
    Income Tax Return assistance by compiling financial data from the individual ledger accounts and the head office P&L and Balance sheet transactions
    Income Tax Return (annual) - prepare financials and supporting schedules
    Quarterly Tax Return reconciliation
    Assisting the statutory audit and be the main point of contact for any queries


    Other legal entities:
    Strong experience of French accounting experience and VAT declaration
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
    Experience in Treasury and/or Banking operations
