Technical Support Engineer and Business Systems job in Poole

Our well-established client in Poole is recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer and Business Systems role, where you will provide support to the IT team supporting, maintaining, writing, and managing the business systems and reporting.

This positionwill also involve installing, supporting, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading internal systems and reports. The Technical Support Engineer and Business Systems position will create, manage, and maintain customer integrations and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
Ensuring security and efficiency of Business systems
Providing first class support, advice, and assistance to Towers internal and external userbase
Resolve problems reported by end user
Logging, monitoring, and updating tickets on the Incident Management System
Manage and configure software and hardware
Set up accounts and access permissions
Create and update Qlik/SQL/ODBC reports
Create, manage, and maintain customer integrations.
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
Troubleshoot issues and outages
Ensure security through access controls, backups, and training
Upgrade/Test systems with new releases and models
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Liaise with third party support companies where necessary to support where needed
Provide cover for Network Administrator where required

Skills and Experience:

Resourcefulness and problemsolving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Proven experience as a Business System Administrator or similar role
Hands on experience with MySQL, ODBC, Qlik & Jaspersoft
Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of system access and reporting
Familiarity with various business systems and platforms
Great at organising, prioritising, and multitasking
A full driving licence is a must
Maintain relationships with employees, internal/external clients, and service providers
Encourage new ideas and support implementation
Prepare plans, anticipate possible demands and outcomes, and prioritise appropriately
