    Fixed Term/Secondment

    Full Time - 37 hours per week

    We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic finance professional to join our capital finance team as an Accountant. The role is fixed until 30th June 2025 covering a secondment of the current postholder.

    The role includes the following:

  • Financial monitoring of a portfolio of capital projects including corporate capital projects such as ICT and Estates projects.
  • Administration of the capital programme approvals process
  • Completion of capital related government returns
  • Raising of debtor invoices, processing invoices payable and completion of financial reconciliations & analysis for grant returns.
  • Involvement in our new system implementation project through testing and data verification to launch and post-go live support
  • Ad hoc support to Senior Accountants and Head Accountant
  • Whilst experience in capital accounting would be useful, training will be provided, and this is therefore a great opportunity for a finance professional to experience a new area of local authority finance. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are key in this role. Interpersonal skills are essential, as is a positive approach to challenges and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands in order to achieve deadlines.

    This role currently reports into the Head Accountant for capital and has no direct reports.
