About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our vibrant secondary school in Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support young minds, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
Responsibilities
Student Support: Provide individualised support to students, promoting their engagement and participation in school activities.
Event Coordination: Plan, organise, and oversee student events and extracurricular activities that enhance the school experience.
Mentorship: Act as a mentor and role model, helping students navigate academic and personal challenges.
Communication: Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive support network.
Behaviour Management: Implement and support school-wide behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful school environment.
Feedback and Improvement: Collect and analyse student feedback to improve engagement initiatives and contribute to the continuous development of school programmes.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience working with young people to support their physical and mental wellbeing.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organisational: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Interpersonal: Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the school's effective organisation, including providing administrative support.
Reflective Approach: High levels of motivation, energy, and commitment with a reflective approach to the role.
Education: Educated to a minimum requirement of Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
