Description

We are excited to offer you an opportunity to join our team at one of the UK's fastest growing recruitment businesses, which has recently expanded into the MSP space and made its mark in both European and USA markets. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who will play a crucial role in our senior leadership team by overseeing a small team of finance and payroll specialists.

This is not just any finance role - you will have the chance to lead our finance function, managing the Accounts Department with two payroll assistants and one finance assistant. It's essential that you possess strong managerial and communication skills, in addition to being a skilled accountant. Handling a diverse workload efficiently and knowing how to prioritize tasks are key, and having experience with modern online accounting systems like Xero (required) and Timesheet Portal (preferred) is a big plus.

Handling transactions in multiple currencies like US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euros, Swedish Krona, and Chinese Yuan, you will need expertise in FX transactions. Working well under pressure with precision and a sharp eye for detail is a must, along with a track record of meeting deadlines.

This role allows you to be part of a warm and dedicated team with extensive experience that is on a global expansion journey.

Duties:

Accounts & Budgeting

Manage company accounts using Xero, including reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and accruals for the company and departments.
Generate and submit reports for audits and management accounts.
Prepare VAT and corporation tax returns.
Create profit/revenue documentation to track business performance.
Supervise quarterly Intermediaries Report.
Review credit control function and cash allocations.

Team Leadership

Lead payroll and finance team, ensuring staff well-being, training, and succession planning.
Manage monthly contractor payroll.
Oversee accurate and timely invoicing for permanent staff and contract recruitment.
Manage operational data and KPIs.
Handle monthly staff payroll including consultant commission processing.
Supervise office facilities management.

Banking

Manage banking relationships and factoring.
Coordinate with invoice finance partners for seamless issue resolution.
Handle existing and new bank accounts, including various currency accounts.
Advise directors on financial products and services for optimal support at the best price.

Cost Control

Analyze and report business costs, identify trends, and suggest savings.
Review suppliers to ensure best value in the supply chain.

Strategy

Develop strategies for Finance and Compliance functions, including outsourcing and supplier management.
Advise on infrastructure improvements to attract potential investors.
Oversee quality compliance and potential ISO implementation.

To be considered for this role, you must have prior finance experience in a recruitment company.

This role is ideal for someone currently working as a Financial Controller or ready to step into that role.

This is a HYBRID position.
