    Main duties of the job

    Provide services for people of allages, across a range of settings, experiencing both physical and/or mentalhealth conditions across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. They are themain providers of mental health and learning disability services in bothcounties, and also delivercommunity hospitals, neighbourhood teams andcommunity nursing services across Worcestershire.

    The Trust work closely with theabove organisations on something called the Sustainability and TransformationPartnership. Essentially this is about local organisations coming together toensure local health and care services remain safe, effective, and sustainableand that collectively we can meet our challenges. The partnership is also aboutdelivering the priorities outlines in the NHS Long Term Plan locally acrossHerefordshire and Worcestershire

    At Herefordshire and WorcestershireHealth and Care NHS Trust (HWHCT) our Research Team explores a wide array ofmental health conditions including depression, psychosis, and bipolar disorder.We also undertake research in other fields including dementia, complexneurology, dietetics, and musculoskeletal conditions and want to expand intoall areas of health & care within HWHCT.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    Provide a high quality, community basedservice to the children and families within a multi-disciplinary team providinga community based child and adolescent mental health service. This is adeveloping service and there may be opportunities to work in different teams asthe service transforms.

    Ensure that each referred patient and wherenecessary their family receives an individual specialist assessment, riskassessment and care plan and is the subject of regular evaluation which,wherever practicable is formulated in conjunction with the patient and/or theirfamily.

    Provide a range of services and approaches aspart of the Senior Practitioner role ie consultation, specialist advice,clinical supervision and support to those working with children those inprimary care, health visitors, school nurses, teaching staff, residentialstaff, social workers, , youth service,

    Establish and maintain supportive andtherapeutic relationships with children and their families referred to thelocal Team.

    Operate in any appropriate setting includinghospital, primary care facilities, residential homes, schools, and units and ifappropriate the childs own home.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • HCPC Registration
  • Degree in Occupational therapy or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Post registration experience in a mental health care setting
  • Use of therapeutic interventions within a mental health setting ie 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work
  • Good knowledge and of recognised disorders and illnesses in the field of mental health.
