We have a great opportunity for someone to work as a Band 6 Dietitian within our Nutrition Support Team based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.


This is a wonderful post for someone who is ready to progress as a Band 6 due to the support and training which is available.

The post holder will work closely with a Band 7 Dietitian within the NST and other MDT members.

The post is part of a wider dietetic team covering Acute and Community services which includes specialties such as ENT, Nutrition Support Team, Diabetes, Heamatology, Cystic Fibrosis, Critical care, Renal and Home Enteral Feeding.

The post holder will be based within the acute teaching hospital at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


You will a part of a wider Nutrition Support Team which consists of Band 7 Dietitians (acute and community HEF), Nutrition Support Nurses, a Gastroenterologist, a Speech and Language Therapist and a Pharmacist.

There is a daily MDT ward round and also a weekly MDT meeting.


The post holder will hold their own Dietetic caseload, with support / teaching and mentoring from an Acute Band 7 Dietitian.


You will work with band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, you will also have opportunity to mentor rotational band 5 dietitians within our team.

We are committed and active in student training.


There will be great opportunities to learn from others clinical specialists within the team, develop your skills with clinical supervision, regular CPD sessions and training opportunities.

The post holder will be actively involved in audit work and working closely with other members of the wider Dietetic Team

Setting up nutritional care plans for patients and monitoring them in an acute setting.

Attending daily board rounds, complex case discussions and MDT meetings as required

Supervising junior Dietetic staff

Undertaking audits, training and supporting ward staff

Partaking in student training and Band 5 dietetic support.
