    An exciting opportunity for an orthoptist, optometrist or ophthalmic nurse to work part time as part of the medical retina team within Swansea Bay University Health Board.

    The successful candidate will have weekly sessions working in our consultant led medical retina clinics which provide an excellent opportunity to develop higher clinical expertise in the field of medical retina. They will also have a weekly session performing PRP laser, undertaking a significantly specialist clinical workload.

    Main duties of the job

We are excited to offer this band 8a post for a senior advanced practitioner in medical retina and are sure it will provide the successful candidate with a rewarding and interesting career with further development opportunities in the field of ophthalmology. The team at Swansea Bay pride themselves on delivering a quality, patient centered ophthalmic service which is always improving to deliver the best care for our patients.

    Join our dynamic and ambitious multidisciplinary team which includes 14 consultants, advanced nurse, orthoptic and optometric practitioners, ophthalmic nurses, ophthalmic associate practitioners, ophthalmic technicians and health care assistants.     Full training will be provided to enable the successful candidate to perform YAG capsulotomy and panretinal photocoagulation laser.
