    Description

    We have exciting opportunities for Sisters / Charge Nurses to come and join our team across the Gastroenterology/ General Medicine specialty at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

    We have vacancies on ward D9 and D8 as a mixture of fixed term/secondment (9 months) and permanent positions.

    All non-clinical roles may involve a mixture of on site and remote working, Specific details and flexible working options can be discussed as part of the interview process.

    You will be acting a role model for nursing staff, encouraging effective working relationships and the development of a cohesive nursing team.

    You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Sister in the management of the ward for a 24-hour period ensuring high standards of care are maintained.


    The sister/charge nurse role requires a close working relationship with the multi-professional team to ensure that evidenced based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient.

    Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
    Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
    Experience in an acute hospital setting
    Commitment to the post and Care Group responsibilities
    Commitment to continuing professional development

    Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
    Microsoft Office skills
