The Dermatology Department has a vacancy for a substantive part-time Biopsy Scheduler to work as part of the Dermatology team across three sites.

Experienced and committed, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to the Consultants and multi-disciplinary team.

The post works closely with the full time biopsy scheduler to co-ordinate all dermatological minor operative procedures across the three Trust sites.

You will act as a central point to ensure patients receive their biologic medication in a timely fashion.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.

To deal with telephone enquiries from GPs, patients, and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner to ensure that appropriate messages are passed onto the relevant people in a timely fashion.

To communicate highly sensitive information to patients / consultants.


Additionally you may be required to:

  • To act as Biopsy Scheduler for the booking of dermatology biopsies and day case surgery at Hemel Hempstead/St Albans.
  • To code all dermatology procedures and nurse led activity.
  • Managing biopsy room planner.
  • Managing waiting lists for our longest waiters
  • You will need to cancel/rebook Dermatology biopsy lists when necessary
Experienced and committed, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service to the Consultants and multi-disciplinary team.


The successful applicant will need to have a good general level of education and meet the essential criteria outlined in the attached Person Specification.
