    The Studio Design Director of Trailmix is responsible for forging the best design team in the industry, fostering a sense of community among designers, enabling them to flourish in their roles and ultimately help them translate the purpose of our company into incredible creative solutions.

    This person would report into our Chief Creative Officer.

    Responsibilities

    Overall, this person is responsible for driving the creative culture of the studio forward. While not responsible for owning any one creative solution, they are expected to effectively assist every designer at Trailmix to conceive designs and execute on them to a very high level.

    • Collaborate with the CCO and design team to transform the Trailmix purpose and strategy into creative solutions : Spend regular time with the CCO and creative directors to discuss the purpose of Trailmix and the specific ways it should guide and enable our design team, our strategy and the creative solutions that come from that
    • Become a key part of the Love & Pies design team : Most of our designers are on our game Love & Pies, consisting of both feature and content design. The SDD is expected to embed themselves alongside these designers to become intimately familiar with their day to day work and challenges
    • Support and enable the creative directors working on new games : Establish strong, useful feedback loops to assist leads in realising the visions of their games. Give timely feedback and support to help them as needed
    • Effectively line manage feature and content designers: Regularly meet up with feature and content designers to ensure they have timely feedback and support, course correcting and helping to remove roadblocks where needed
    • Curate career development processes: Refine the Pathways for designers and establish effective feedback processes that ensure every designer gets the input they need to do their best work and reach their career goals

    Requirements

    • Extensive experience of mobile F2P design, from conception to launch to successful live operations
    • Able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the casual mobile market, with a finger on the pulse of the latest trends that can be turned into articulate hypotheses about future trends
    • Extensive experience leading, managing and growing design teams
    • A "most fast" mentality, comfortable with finding the balance between analysis and action
