    The Role

    As a Network Engineer, your primary responsibilities will revolve around designing and implementing network and voice technologies, focusing mainly on Aruba LAN/WLAN and Clearpass, Fortigate, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco Nexus, Cisco LAN, Infoblox, and Mitel PBX and VOIP systems. Familiarity with service principles and methodologies, including service transition, is crucial. Additionally, proficiency in Jira and devops working methods would be advantageous.

    The position will predominantly be remote, with a base in one of our key office locations (Coventry, Manchester, or Holborn), as well as working from home. Travel within the UK may be required as part of the role.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Design, test, and implement connectivity solutions for new business needs in collaboration with strategic partners
    • Deploy and commission LAN infrastructure at various sites
    • Support national programs for SDWAN and hosted VOIP deployments, as well as network design and implementation for new depots and offices
    • Provide third-line support for major incidents and assist the product owner in enhancing the connectivity roadmap through a proactive, experimental approach

    Your Profile

    Key competencies/experience:

    • Expertise in Aruba switching and wireless LAN, including Clearpass and Central
    • Solid understanding of Fortigate firewalls, proxies, F5 load balancers, and Cisco switches
    • Proficiency in scripting, AI, and automating service processes
    • Familiarity with BGP, OSPF, routing, DNS, and DHCP
    • Hands-on experience in building comms rooms, network cabs, and cabling
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an agile team
    • Experience in designing network solutions at site and estate levels

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud networking, VPCs, and transit gateways
    • Desire for continuous learning, self-improvement, and teamwork
    • Proficiency in Python, Powershell, API usage, and working with Active Directory
    • Background in Mitel voice, DCI/NGNs, SIP, VOIP, and telephony concepts
    • Detail-oriented and meticulous work approach
    • Experience in a large retail environment, including supply chain operations and associated business workflows
