- Confirming optical fiber geometries by taking images and comparing readings against established test cases with guidance from an engineer, lab manager, or other technicians.
- Recording manufacturing data and assisting with basic analyses to identify bugs, defects, or failure rates with guidance from an engineer, lab manager, or other technicians.
- Documenting daily progress and recording manufacturing throughput with links to spreadsheets, photos, and/or other supporting documents with guidance from an engineer, lab manager, or other technicians. The Azure Fiber team in Romsey is seeking dynamic candidates with energy and a passion for innovation to join our team. You will be working on fabrication processes for radically novel optical fibers, including glass preform manufacture, optical fiber drawing and associated processes. The role will involve operating specialist manufacturing equipment, and meeting agreed production targets to support the scaling up of our new fabrication facility to meet customer demand and company ambition. As such, this role involves hands-on work in our state of the art Romsey facility.
