ROLE PURPOSE:


The Investment Operation Senior Associate will bring knowledge and experience to assist the investment operations team with daily management of the trade lifecycle, including IBOR maintenance, trade support, asset servicing & cash management.

The team have wide scope of responsibilities and work closely with the front office (trading desk and portfolio managers), the wider portfolio services team (investment control, analytics and performance, third party vendors and other key stakeholders.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the management of the fixed income and equity Corporate Action process, liaising with analysts and portfolio managers, ensuring the elections are made in a timely manner and that the custodians / book of records accurately reflect elected actions.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Investment Book of Records.
  • Keep the team up to date with market and regulatory changes in relation to trade support, ensuring that systems and processes are updated accordingly. Daily Cash Management including but not limited to daily administration and oversight of fund/account cash flows, cash reconciliations, spot FX oversight and cash balance management.
  • Assist with the oversight of outsourced daily reconciliations and exception management liaising with counterparties and service providers. Ensure adherence to the firms' ISAE 3402 controls.
  • Lead the global securities market account openings and ensure alignment across mandates
  • Responsible for assisting client service and operational client reporting requests.
  • Assist with service provider oversight meetings to ensure that providers are delivering in line with SLA requirements in relation to daily reporting, and helping with the assessment of these entities on a periodic basis.
  • Present management information monthly to the Portfolio Services Group. Share with investment Operations /Front Office weekly meeting If significant and appropriate.
  • Assist and control the operational delivery of relevant new funds, new market openings and share classes. Keep on top of key market changes.
  • Assist with equity and fixed income trade support using Omgeo CTM and Bloomberg TC.
  • Ensure that static data (Impax portal, SSI, fees and charges) is kept up to date in Bloomberg, Omgeo and the data warehouse.
  • Monitor and oversee the custodian settlement process via Failstation, escalating any issues.
  • Monitor spot FX transactions and work with outsourced FX agent to ensure all currency balances effectively repatriated into fund base currencies.
  • Assist with the firms securities lending program ensuring this is setup where appropriate and the process works as expected.
  • Assist with withholding tax reclaims and oversight of our specialist third party provider
  • Assist with proxy voting administration, including setup of new accounts and controls to ensure ballots and votes are processed as expected

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years within a buy side Operations team.
  • CISI IOC qualifications an advantage
  • Equity and Fixed Income experience is required. Full understanding of trade lifecycle and typical data flow.
  • Operational knowledge of derivatives (CDS, Futures & Forward FX) would be an advantage.
  • End to end knowledge of own function and broad understanding of Investment Operations functions
  • Aware of possible risks related to own processes, raises concern at an early stage. Acts on and communicates these risks appropriately.
