Description
I am recruiting on behalf of a growing business in the Cardiff Gate area. My client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their growing team.


Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information for key stakeholders and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the achievement of the group's objectives.


Key activities will include:

  • The full preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Internal financial reporting and key business information reporting to our stakeholders
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and review of all balance sheet items
  • Responsibility for income reconciliations
  • Business partnering activities with our home managers providing insightful analysis on trends and assisting in driving forward business KPIs
  • Take a lead role in providing education, training and support to nonfinancial managers to reduced costs and improve decision making
  • Budgeting and forecasting activities, including regular budget v actual performance reviews
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual external audit
  • Management of one Accounts Technician
  • Developing and managing financial systems, controls and policies to ensure that processes are robust, efficient and effective

  • Keen to progress with the business and develop their accounting knowledge with an interest in finance and business
  • An inquisitive mind someone who challenges the status quo and is not afraid to ask questions
  • Has the ability to work to deadlines by having an organised and methodical approach
  • Enthusiastic and driven getting involved in anything and everything
  • Strong attention to detail is a key skill needed for this role someone who is thorough and accurate when accomplishing tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and able to tailor their approach to different levels in the organisation
  • It is important to be both a strong team player as well as possessing the ability to work alone to complete key tasks
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as conversant with a range of ERP and IT systems.
Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Studying or recently qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • A Levels or equivalent
  • GCSE's (A*C) in Mathematics and English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong excel skills particularly desirable.
