Description

West London Forensic Service provides a comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for male and female mentally disordered offenders, as well as those with challenging behaviour and specialist rehabilitation needs.

As a Service we will provide you with supervision, ongoing personal development, a stimulating and challenging working environment and opportunities for career development within West London NHS Trust.

It is an exciting time to join the service as West London Mental Health Trust has developed a pathway for band 2 -4 development.

The Pathway supports the non-registered nurse to develop towards band 4 positions within the service by ensuring there is support, training and career progression that will produce a well-trained well supported workforce and will also help us to deliver a programme that equips healthcare facilitators with the skills to undergo nurse training.

As the Post holder you will be expected to embrace the Trust values of Excellence, Caring, Responsibility and Togetherness and demonstrate these values within your role.

The post holder under supervision will provide a recovery focused approach healthcare by assisting and carrying out assigned tasks including direct / indirect patient care using the principles of recovery.

This will involve clinical duties, and administration duties that contribute to delivery of physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual care to our service users.

The post holder will carry out duties as designated by the nurse in charge and report on the patient's condition.

They will maintain the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the ward environment and will be required to undertake routine clerical duties.

Patient involvement and co-production are fundamental to our approach and you will be closely involved in developing recovery care pathways and ensuring patients always have a strong voice and that their needs remain at the heart of everything we do.

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of mental health, community and social care in the UK.

Our 3,982 staff care for people in hospital and in the community, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives.

We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.

We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

We're rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Together, we're committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability, LGBTQ+ and experience of mental illness.
