    Description

    Copley Academy is a rapidly improving school. Our December 2021 Ofsted report describes the "great strides" that leaders have made and praises the "high aspirations" for students and the "broad and ambitious" curriculum. Most importantly, the report also says that students are "happy and proud" to attend the Academy.

    We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to support the Curriculum Leader for Science (Head of Department) in leading a forward thinking and ambitious Science department, on a permanent basis. Working closely with colleagues in the department and across the academy, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead curriculum planning, teaching and learning at KS3 and KS4, embedding challenge for all and ensuring all students make exceptional progress.

    There will also be the opportunity to grow as a leader through a dedicated CPD package, that will equip the post holder for further future progression.

    The successful candidate will have:


    • Outstanding teaching and interpersonal skills


    • A strong academic background with the ability to teach to GCSE


    • A demonstrable track record in leading student progress


    • Evidence of impact using quality first teaching


    • Evidence of ambition and a commitment to continuing professional development


    • The desire to maximise the performance of all students and the very best progress for all
