    Position: Long Term Contract

    Title: Product Engineer - Chassis Systems Intermediate

    Description: The Product Engineer - Chassis Systems - Steering Design Release Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components and/or systems. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    1. Interface with Chassis Steering Component Groups, Suppliers, and support Quality and Assembly Plants to develop Electronic Power Steering ECUs.
    2. Manage product electrical requirements to ensure vehicle and component level functional targets are met.
    3. Support meeting cost and weight targets.
    4. Develop and maintain software and electronic hardware development timing for feature rollout and performance goal milestones according to the organization's EES Development Timing.
    5. Manage supplier and internal DVPR's and DFMEA's, including:
      1. Tracking of the electronic hardware and software/feature validation activities and the related bug-fixes.
      2. Definition and coordination with stakeholders regarding electronics hardware or software root cause and countermeasures in case of issues and delays.
      3. Coordination of electronic HW / SW releases with the Chassis Steering component team, ensuring the alignment with the validation and vehicle build activities.
      4. Approval of applicable test results and related deviations.
    6. Support Chassis Steering component team with AQP, PSO, product launch, and problem resolution during vehicle launch gates.

    Requirements:

    1. 2+ years experience in electronic steering system development.
    2. Knowledge of Electric Power Steering systems.
    3. Calibration and diagnostic experience using typical automotive controls system development environments.
    4. Intermediate knowledge in automotive communication protocols (CAN networks, Electrical/EMC requirements, Environmental requirements, FMEA, functional safety analysis ISO 26262 norm, etc.).
    5. Intermediate knowledge in automotive vehicle electrical system architectures.
    6. Knowledge of systems engineering principles, electrical hardware and software design concepts.
    7. Knowledge of testing and validation tools.
    8. Proven record of interpreting requirements from design to production.
    9. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

    Preferred Requirements:

    1. Minimum 1-5 years experience in electronic brake system development.
    2. Formal training/experience in DFSS, problem solving, quality, and reliability.

    Will be required to travel domestically 0-20%. May be required to travel internationally 0-20%. May be required to drive a company car (i.e. testing purposes). Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

    Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Automotive / Systems Engineering, or a related field of study.
