Are you an experienced orthoptist with a special interest in complex paediatric orthoptics? Are you looking for a challenging new role in a hospital setting, with an exciting mix of clinical development and interesting workload? If so, we have a great opportunity for you here at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Orthoptist to provide a comprehensive, quality orthoptic service within the busy ophthalmology department of a tertiary referral centre.
You will be given high quality training opportunities with close clinical supervision, and opportunities to share knowledge to others within the team.
As the role requires communication and liaison with patients with complex conditions, other clinical departments, both within the hospital and other trust, advanced communication and inter-personal skills are paramount.

Evidence of on-going professional development
Registration with Health Care Pressions Council
Experience with teaching undergraduate orthoptic students
Clinical experience in specialist paediatric orthoptics to provide an expert opinion in assessing, diagnosing and managing highly complex paediatric orthoptic patients
Experience of visual field assessment
To demonstrate an interest in paediatric ophthalmology and be willing to keep up to date with current literature, including evidence of specialist training through CPD
Computer literate (word processing, PowerPoint presentation, Excel, and Access databases)
To demonstrate the ability to develop good working relationships with hospital staff at all levels
