- Manage the day-to-day activities of the payroll support services team
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of new employee setups and data updates
- Oversee high-volume data entry tasks related to payroll adjustments, starters/leavers etc.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll queries across areas like PAYE, tax, compliance
- Provide expert guidance to clients on payroll-related matters, ensuring compliant practices
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with payroll processing teams to streamline operations and enhance customer service
- Proven experience in a payroll support services or payroll customer support role
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation including PAYE, NIC, SMP, SPP etc.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build positive client relationships
- Confident in explaining complex payroll/tax matters to internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in payroll software
- Excellent organizational, multitasking and problem-solving abilities
