WHAT TO EXPECT
The role is a key role in JLR's global Corporate Affairs and wider Chief of Staff function.

The role of the department is to protect and promote our brand to a range of internal and external stakeholders.


Corporate Affairs owns the communication strategy for the business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence across all stakeholders.

That includes internal and external audiences - including the effective management of JLR's communication channels.

JLR is a business undergoing fundamental change through the exciting Reimagine strategy outlined in February 2021.

Set against a canvas of true sustainability, JLR will become a more agile creator of the world's most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning of customers.

A strategy that is designed to create a new benchmark in environmental, societal and community impact for a luxury business.


As Senior Communications Officer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of the communications strategy and manufacturing communications priorities for a diverse audience of employees, local residents and media, councillors, partners, charities and other stakeholders relating to our Manufacturing Plant.


As a very complex and large manufacturing facility, things can change quickly, and the ability to respond positively, work at speed, whilst aways delivering to a high quality with a flexible approach is critical.


The role will involve responsibility for communication channels at the plant, including the weekly Team Talk e-newsletter, digital signage, video production and editing, business critical employee briefs and community newsletters.

A high-level understanding of internal and external communications channels and measurement, including working knowledge of related platforms and software is a must.


Stakeholder management and be able to influence is key, networking, and an understanding of what makes a compelling story is also essential.

You will also lead local stakeholder communications including relationships with our community, councillors, media and other interested parties.


You will be an experienced storyteller and content creator, in support of our Reimagine strategy, company Purpose and Refocus 2.0 transformation.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the internal communication channels for the Solihull manufacturing plant
  • Delivery of written, film and photography assets to support planned and reactive plant communications including production and supplier communication
  • Support the delivery of employee communication and engagement activities: Milestone events, Town Halls/Village Halls, new model launches, tactical plant campaigns and initiatives
  • Work with colleagues to develop, collate and identify compelling stories and features and elevate across all channels
  • Broad stakeholder management from hourly associates and senior leaders including supporting the Corporate Affairs Manager with advising and producing material/content for the Operations Director
  • Use technical inhouse software systems to manage and maintain content and distribution lists
  • Manage relationships with local external stakeholders to protect and promote JLR's reputation in the community and beyond
  • Use data and metrics to report and provide feedback on engagement good practice
  • Manage process of auditing and measuring the impact of communications and make recommendations for improvement based on data
  • Develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing global communications channels.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
As the Communications Senior Officer, you'll need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Relevant Degree
  • Passion and Purpose to deliver exceptional results in a high
- performing team

  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written
  • An ability to plan communications campaigns and allocate work to the team to support delivery
  • Demonstrable experience producing internal communications that is relevant and engaging
  • A high level of IT competence is required in Excel, Word, Power Point, communications software and experience with the creative cloud (InDesign, photoshop and premier pro)
  • Experience of external corporate media relations issues and crisis handling
  • Commercially astute and used to working in a very fast
- moving business environment

  • Proven experiences negotiating and influencing stakeholders both internal and external
