My client, the Metropolitan Police, seek an experienced Administrator to start an ongoing temp booking asap/

Location:
Charlton with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week

Travel :
UK / London travel may be required andwill be covered by expenses. There will be a requirement to attend yearly conference summer 2023, location yet TBC

Work Hours:
Full time. Office hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Responsible for:
Providing administrative support to the Director of CDSS and wider CDSS SMT

Period of posting: 1 year

Job Purpose


Working closely with the Director of CDSS and wider SMT to provide effective administrative support and ensure the office is run efficiently run.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Act as the single point of contact for equipment and store management
  • Manage all arrangements for the annual VRES conference
  • Arrange meetings and preparing meeting packs
  • Take minutes at complex meetings and chase actions
  • Manage CDSS SMT leave arrangements
  • Undertake research and analysis as required
  • Assist with HR/Finance/Resource planning at the Portfolio level
  • Build productive working relationships others including, SMT members and external parties to nurture effective working relationships and networks
  • Undertake any other ad hoc admin duties as required
  • Draft letters of appreciation on behalf of the Director
  • Expect to be working to deadlines in a multitasking environment.
Person Specification

  • Ability to manage own workload including the effective prioritisation of tasks and the ability to work using own initiative
  • A flexible approach to providing support for a number of different projects or business service requirements
  • Ability to research, handle and analyse information and data
  • Experience of playing an active role in working as a team to deliver results
  • Experience of communicating successfully to a range of audiences verbally or through reports and presentations
  • Evidence of well developed organisational skills, including maintaining information systems to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines
  • An understanding of MOPAC and organisational governance structures, strategies and working practices
  • Show commitment to service delivery and be customer focussed
  • Able to demonstrate integrity, work with discretion and respect confidentiality
Essential criteria

A sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook; excellent organisational abilities; good communication and inter-personal skills; a flexible approach to work with the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
