    Regulatory Team

    Toxicological research and toxicity testing constitute thescientific core of Risk Assessment, which is used for evaluating potentialadverse health impacts from exposure to hazardous substances that appear in thefood chain.

    A Regulatory Toxicology Advisor helps the Risk Assessor characterizethe risk by collating and interpreting scientific/toxicological data.

    This is important in helping to provide consultation andsupport and facilitate the completion of internal and external customerinquiries, such as, but not limited to, risk assessment of hazardous compounds,advisory on toxicological testing, safety assessment of novel foods/ingredients(including genotoxicity, sub chronic toxicity, carcinogenicity, reproductiveand developmental toxicity).

    • To develop andcontribute to RA inquiries.

    • To answer questionsfrom members, other clients, and colleagues on the content, application andinterpretation of the above.

    • To initiate newbusiness and deliver contract services on time and within budget.

    • To contribute tothe development and delivery of research projects.
    • To develop self toenhance performance and professionalism.

    • Toundertake such other duties as may, from time to time, reasonably be requiredby the Regulatory Affairs Manager.
    • Experience in anyone or more of the areas; reproductive/developmental toxicity, Computational(in silico) toxicology and modelling, Toxicokinetic, or ADME, Regulatorytoxicology, Exposure assessment, chemical risk assessment (i.e., contaminants,allergens, chemicals).
    • Knowledge of riskassessment methodologies to evaluate materials, ingredients, and products.
    • Basic chemistryskills related to product chemistry with a good understanding of Riskassessment and the food Regulatory framework.
    • Strong experiencein industrial and/or regulatory toxicology, EU/UK harmonised regulation.
    • Practicalexperience in food and drink manufacturing ideally food industry experiencegained from a technical and/or research/scientific role.
    • Well-developedcommunication skills – upwards, downwards, and outwards including presentationsto clients and delivery of training materials.
    • Experiencein client interactions and/ or project management.
