    Description

    About therole:

    We are seeking a highlyskilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team to helpdefine and build Pharmanovias longterm data management strategy.Pharmanovia is aiming to build a highly autonomous selfservice dataand analytics platform which can extract and align data from manybestinclass SaaS platforms (e.g. SAP S4 HANA Salesforce CRM VeevaRIMS and others) to deliver efficient business insights toPharmanovia management and operationalteams.

    As a Senior Data Engineeryou will play a crucial role in defining Pharmanovias longterm dataanalytics strategy covering but not limitedto:

    DataArchitecture Infrastructure(AWS):

    Design and implementscalable data architectures to support various data sources andtypes

    Select appropriate database technologiesdata warehouses and/or data lakes

    Manage cloudinfrastructure to support data processing and storageneed

    Data IntegrationETL:

    Develop pipelines to ingestclean and integrate data from disparatesources

    Automate data integration processes toimprove efficiency and reliability

    Implementingreporting and visualization tools for data exploration andanalysis

    Identify and implement optimizations toenhance data processing and queryperformance

    DataAnalytics:

    Building analyticalcapabilities to support selfservice data analyticaltools

    Reporting and maintenance of data qualityof core datasets and define improvementstrategies

    Develop data infrastructure to supportpotential AI/ML usecases

    DataGovernance:

    Establishing datagovernance frameworks policies andstandards

    Defining data ownership stewardship andquality management processes

    Implementing datamanagement practices for data acquisition storage integration andarchival

    DataSecurity:

    Ensuring compliance withrelevant data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPAHIPAA)

    Conducting regular audits and assessmentsto assess and mitigate data security risks

    Inaddition to the above you will need to demonstrate a goodunderstanding of the reallife use cases for the data to ensureactivities are appropriately prioritised and any data issues orconcerns that could impact decision making are identified and wellcommunicated. You will be required to collaborate with varioustechnical and nontechnical teams across Pharmanovia to understandbusiness problems and deliver solutions appropriate to the businessrequirements.

    You should have extensiveexperience working with the AWS platform as well as additionaltools such as Databricks and have demonstrated proficiency indesigning and managing databases and dataplatforms.

    As a Senior Data Engineer you willplay a crucial role in building and optimising our datainfrastructure ensuring scalability reliability and efficiency.This role is essential for driving datadriven decisionmaking andenhancing our ability to extract insights from vast amounts ofdata.

    Main responsibilitiesduties:

    • Collaboratewith crossfunctional teams to understand business requirements andtranslate them into scalable secure and reliable AWSsolutions
    • Support the definition ofPharmanovias longterm data management strategy
    • Define and implement key tools to enact Pharmanovias datamanagement strategy
    • Design and development ofdata pipelines using AWS services such as Lambda EC2 S3 RDSDynamoDB etc. from a variety of sources (SaaS platforms excel emailattachments sFTPs etc)
    • Optimise systemperformance reliability and costefficiency through continuousmonitoring troubleshooting and optimization of AWSresources
    • Ensure compliance with industrystandards and regulations (e.g. HIPAA GDPR) for data security andprivacy in AWS environments
    • Implement bestpractices for infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWSCloudFormation or Terraform to automate provisioning and deploymentprocesses.
    • Stay updated on emerging AWStechnologies and trends and evaluate their potential to enhancePharmanovias cloud infrastructure.
    • Providetechnical guidance and mentorship to junior team members fosteringa culture of learning and innovation within the engineeringteam

    Aboutyou:

    • Bachelors orMasters degree in Computer Science Engineering or relatedfield
    • ITIL Foundation desirable
    • Knowledge of ITIL 4 and change managementpractices
    • Proven experience designingdeveloping and deploying cloudbased solutions on AWS
    • Indepth knowledge of AWS services and their use caseswith a focus on compute storage networking security andmonitoring
    • Proficiency in programminglanguages such as Python Java or and experience withserverless computing (AWS Lambda)
    • Handsonexperience with containerization technologies (e.g. DockerKubernetes) and familiarity with container orchestration on AWS(Amazon EKS)
    • Strong understanding of DevOpsprinciples and experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWSCode Pipeline Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
    • Excellent problemsolving skills and ability totroubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems
    • Effective communication skills with the ability tocollaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
    • Serviceoriented with excellent customer servicepersona
    • Great analytical skills methodical andhigh attention to detail
    • Creativesolutionoriented mindset and the ability to take owninitiative
    • Approachable helpful and flexibleattitude
    • Strong verbal and written Englishlanguage skills
    • Ability to travelinternationally if required
