- Leading property related transactions including new site development and re-development projects
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of property leases and licences
- Advising in relation to property related disputes
- Managing the business' relationship with external counsel on real estate and wider matters
- Attending committees or other meetings of the Council as directed by the Borough Solicitor
- Providing support and supervision to a part time property lawyer
- Be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with up-to-date practicing certificate
- Possess demonstrable experience of working in Residential and Commercial Property law, any additional experience of other areas of the law (Litigation, Planning, Contracts or Corporate Governance) would be beneficial but not essential
- Be an excellent negotiator, with first-rate communication skills at all levels of seniority

Senior Lawyer – Property
Remuneration: £51,410 - £55,400 per annum, market supplement of up to £1,600 per annum and generous benefits including Local Government Pension Scheme.
Introduction:
This is an exciting time for Legal Services at Waverley. We've recently undergone a restructure and are now taking steps to appoint a number of key roles within this fast-paced team environment. These new roles will help shape the future of the team, as we seek to contribute to the delivery of our overall Council commitments for the Borough and its residents.
As Senior Lawyer – Property, you will take the lead for Waverley on executing instructions on a variety of property transactions including a caseload of Commercial and Residential matters.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will be broad in scope and dynamic in nature. You will work closely with the council and in particular the estates and housing teams and advise on both the strategy and operational aspects of a wide range of property related issues including:
