Ignite Hubs is an education charity for children and young people aged 7 to 18 years old.

Our mission is to ignite the potential of young minds by widening their horizons and providing them with the skills, connections and experiences to access career-related learning opportunities and prepare them for the future workforce.

We currently teach coding and STEM.

We aim to provide the best learning environment for children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities.

We place a special emphasis on engaging underrepresented groups, including girls, children with special educational needs, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our educational offerings include four weekly virtual classes and five weekly in-person classes during term time at various libraries throughout Southwark, SE London.

Our long-term ambition is to offer nationwide classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a wide variety of subjects under our five educational Hubs: Code, STEM, Innovation & Enterprise, Creativity and Health & Wellbeing.

We are looking to deliver interactive and engaging sessions to children and young people using the Micro:bit to teach coding and electronics.

    Tuesdays – Walworth Library
    Wednesdays – Peckham Library
    Thursdays – Camberwell Library
    Saturdays – Una Marson Library

All onsite classes start at 6:15pm to 7:15pm apart from at Una Marson Library, where it starts at 11am to 12pm, during term-time only.

You are required to be there around 10-15mins beforehand to help with set-up and stay on 15 to 20 mins after to help with pack-up and a quick debrief.

There may also be additional hours available to support the development and teaching of the digital Micro:bit programme via remote classes that we are planning to launch in September 2024 and contribute to curriculum development and content creation for the Online Learning Platform, which we are currently designing and building.
