Influence the IT security debate at the highest level.

There's never been a more exciting time to join The Greater Manchester Police.

Currently investing in a new target operating model that will enhance the way the force is able to provide policing, the Information Services Branch is creating a new IT infrastructure that will keep police up-to-speed with real time information whilst they're on the street.

As a result, we are recruiting for a number of roles; all boasting a solid combination of strategic development opportunity and daily challenges that will stretch the mind of any dynamic and ambitious IT professional.

We are looking to appoint a new Information Security and Risk Lead, to work and lead an Information and cyber security team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to develop and build a new team to deliver on all key projects involving security and compliance within this leading organisation.

You will review existing policies and procedures and use your expertise and know how to shape our current and future security strategy ensuring Peninsula, our members and all of our systems are safe and compliant.

This is your chance to not only shape our IT services, but also influence national and regional debate on levels of IT security, leading to successful collaboration initiatives.

You'll set the security standards and policies that protect our information assets while making information available to stakeholders.

Our solution design and implementation teams, suppliers and partner organisations will look to you to develop security and information standards.

You'll also be responsible for risk management. To succeed, you'll need to keep fully up-to-speed with the latest industry developments in information and IS security.

Ready to take on a highly responsible role, you'll come to us with a proven track record of planning, developing, implementing, promoting and assessing information security and risk management in a multi-functional organisation.

Qualified in information security and risk, ideally to degree level, you will have experience of managing security and risk related incidents while setting governance objectives.

A confident manager, you'll also be skilled in line managing teams and prioritising workloads to get the best out of the people you work with.

Reporting into the Intelligent Client Assistant Head, this is an opportunity to genuinely shape and impact the business across all areas of security.

Working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment you will be given the opportunity and autonomy to genuinely impact the business.
