Description

Our client is looking for an experienced site electrician based in South Wales, focusing on Operation & Maintenance and Asset Management for existing solar projects.

They have evolved into one of the largest Independent Service Providers (ISPs) for solar PV, managing over 1000MWp and developing approximately 3GWp of projects across Europe and the UK.

specialising in operation & maintenance, technical advisory services, and utility-scale ground-mount solar PV projects.

The site Approved Electrician will be called to cover the following tasks:

Perform installation and service maintenance tasks for cabling and modules on solar arrays.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on inverters according to manufacturer service guidelines.

Handle the termination of cables and connectors at both DC and AC distribution boxes, and generate comprehensive reports and test sheets.

Install cabling for monitoring and communication equipment such as data loggers, routers, and sensors.

Utilise professional site measurement tools like thermal imaging and insulation testers to identify faults in electrical components, ensuring detailed reporting and ticketing.

Take charge of subcontractor engagement and site management responsibilities.
Provide support and supervision to fellow electricians as needed, drawing from previous experience.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of Health & Safety standards and regulations.
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

Minimum of five years' experience in installing and maintaining electrical systems in industrial settings.
Previous involvement in the photovoltaic industry is advantageous.
Familiarity with SCADA Systems is desirable.
Hold a Level 1-3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation or its equivalent.
Possess a vocational qualification (NVQ LV3) in the electrical industry.
Completion of National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate.
Certified in Inspection and Testing (2391, 2394, 2395, or equivalent).
Hold or be in the process of obtaining an ECS Electrician Gold Card (Assistance provided).
Possess a site safety certificate (CSCS or ECS or equivalent), with training available if needed
