About Our Client:


The client, based in the City of London, is a re-insurance Scheme that makes flood cover more widely available and affordable.

It is a joint initiative between the UK Government and Insurers. Every insurer that offers home insurance in the UK must pay into the Scheme.

This Levy raises £135m every year that we use to cover the flood risks in home insurance policies, purchase further reinsurance against catastrophic flooding and to run the Company.


The Business will run until 2039 and is tasked with ensuring that the market will then be offering policies with premiums based on actual flood risk.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected, highly motivated team in an industry facing position.

The duties the Operations Assistant will need to carry out:

  • Support the delivery of the clients service to market participants, acting as first line support on both a proactive and reactive basis
  • Daily liaison and user support for the clients bordereaux submission and property data hub portals on both an inbound (reactive) and outbound (proactive) basis
  • Perform validatory checks on claims and premium data received, referring to participants for rectification or clarification where necessary
  • Processing and approval of exceptions in adherence with the clients technical eligibility criteria.
  • Triage, report and monitor service desk requests that require referral to Flood Re's external service partners
  • Production and validation of both regular and adhoc operational MI

The Successful Applicant:

The requirements for the Operations Assistant role are as follows:

  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience working within the home insurance industry (beneficial but not essential)
  • Experience gained in a role within the UK personal lines insurance market, whether from customer service (B2B or B2C), underwriting or claims support functions (beneficial but not essential)
