    About the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES)

    Founded in 1915, SSEES is a world leading institution for research and teaching on Russia, the Baltics, and Central, Eastern and South-East Europe.

    The UCL SSEES student body numbers around 1000 students, divided between 650 undergraduate, 300 taught graduate, and 50 graduate research students.

    The School has an academic staff of some 45 professors, associate professors, and lecturers, 25 teaching fellows, many visiting fellows and project-based researchers and a dedicated team of professional services staff that provides valuable support to both our students and academic staff.

    The SSEES Senior School Manager is the senior Professional Services (PS) member of staff in SSEES.

    The role will work closely with the Director of SSEES to develop and operationalise the School's strategy in terms of short, medium and long-term planning as well as being responsible for budgetary management and the day-to-day operation and service provision of the School.

    The post holder will ensure that statutory regulations, UCL and SSEE S policies and procedures are implemented and operated effectively.

    The successful candidate will have: - A proven track record in senior level administration and management within a HE or similar large, complex organisation.

    - The ability to provide support for data-driven, evidence based senior management decisions as part of a Leadership Team. - An understanding of the value of equality, diversity and inclusivity initiatives.
