Job Description:


  • Take ownership of the IT platform management systems, including, (not an exclusive list) HR, Finance, Medical Centre, MS Teams, Academic MIS, CCTV, Door Access, Print Management and Service Desk, including integrations cross platforms, but not managingthe end user tasks.
  • Deputise, in the absence of the primary system user, key day to day tasks on the system linked to that role.
  • Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain the computer systems so they are compliant with the organization's guidelines.
  • Reporting on progress of operational issues to senior management, end users and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate existing systems and indicate enhancements to the senior management.
  • Plan and implement system automation to optimise methods as required for better efficiency.
  • Ability to build virtual servers in a Hyper-V environment which will advance into Azure cloud server management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, systems and software issues from analysis through to resolution.

Essential Criteria:

  • Formal IT qualification to at least A-Level standard or equivalent experience
  • 2 years' minimum experience working in infrastructure systems / IT support role
  • A solution focused, cando attitude
  • Experience in providing a positive and timely user experience in response to IT issues and requests
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of core networking concepts including DHCP, VLANS, DNS
  • Experience with the use, management and support of Microsoft 365 platforms
  • Willingness to work out of hours when severe issues experienced or for planned outages
  • To work on Saturday mornings as required

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Azure, Enterprise Applications.
  • Experience with VoIP technology. Specifically MS Teams
  • Cloud experience, specifically in Azure
  • Knowledge of Identity Access Management concepts (IAM)
  • Experience preparing workflow analyses
  • Educational software experience, specifically iSAMS
  • Knowledge implementing and maintaining SharePoint and MS Teams
  • Experienced in training and supporting staff
  • Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices
  • ITIL foundation qualification
  • Experience of working in an educational environment
