University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is thrilled to invite you to our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) Open Day on Thursday, June 6th at Southlands Hospital, Shoreham-by-Sea. We encourage you to apply for various positions as a diagnostic practitioner and support worker at our new CDC in Southlands. You will participate in a welcome session where we will share more about our Trust, the CDC program, give you the opportunity to meet leaders from various services, and conduct interviews on the same day.

We at University Hospital Sussex offer abundant growth opportunities. In 2023, we inaugurated phase 1 of our CDC hub at Southlands, featuring state-of-the-art Radiology facilities. Our excitement continues as we plan to unveil phase 2 in Autumn 2024, providing diagnostic pathways such as echocardiography, lung function testing, ultrasound, and gynecological treatments. We are currently hiring staff for this purpose-built unit, offering exceptional educational prospects for career advancement.

Main Duties of the Job

Assisting Patients, Radiographers, and Radiologists to maintain seamless department operations.
Engaging directly with patients.
Active participation as a team member in the Radiology Department to ensure efficient department functionality.
A dynamic role involving coordinating workflows in specific areas within the Imaging department, supporting radiographers and radiologists.
Working with in-patients and out-patients needing Radiology examinations.
Acting as a troubleshooter among the multidisciplinary team to guarantee timely imaging.
Providing the highest standard of patient care.
Supporting radiographers in delivering individualized patient care.
Executing caring tasks like preparing patients for examinations and tending to them post-examination, while prioritizing patient requirements, privacy, and dignity.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Active involvement as a team member in the Radiology Department to ensure efficient department operations.

Qualifications/Experience

Maths and English GCSE at grades 4 and above / C

Essential Criteria

Experience in Radiology/Imaging Department

Healthcare related NVQ

Previous hospital working experience

Care Certificate

Knowledge and Experience

Good Interpersonal skills/Patient Care

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning/willingness to learn

Capability to mentor and teach

Aptitude to address basic issues and handle complaints

Desirable Criteria

Prior experience in IV cannulation
