About the school

GSL Education are actively seeking a confident Cover Supervisor for an immediate placement at a friendly primary School in Sunderland.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school by supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher by delivering pre-set work to a whole host of different year groups.

This job is a Monday to Friday role – term time only, with working hours 8am -3pm

About the Cover Supervisor Role

You will

Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task and engaged in their learning.
Implement pre-prepared lesson plans across different subject areas and year groups.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
Provide support to students, answering questions and offering assistance as needed.
Communicate effectively with teaching staff and school administrators regarding any issues or concerns.
Requirements of the role

Previous experience working in a school environment or with children and young people – preferably in a TA or HLTA position – or have experience leading class based sessions
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and subject areas.
A positive attitude and a passion for education.
Great Rapport Builder , confident managing behaviour

A good overall academic ability – applicants with a recent degree who are considering a career in teaching are encouraged to apply
