To deliver an effective and competent level of administrative support and consistently deliver a high-quality administrative service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.


The Apprentice Team Administrator will be expected to meet the requirements of this job description by the end of the apprenticeship.

They will be gaining the skills and experience as they progress through their training modules

The Apprentice Team Administrator will work as part of the wider administrative team to provide a full administrative service for all Nursing Research, Education and Development workstreams and activity and have daily liaison with a wide range of internal and external contacts

  • Providing administrative support in relation to all aspects of the Department's activity, including initiatives such as the Health and Care Academy and the Continuing Professional Development Programme.
  • To support the coordination of Nursing Research, Education and Development training programmes which includes monitoring and recording attendance, organisation for facilitators, training rooms, refreshments, producing attendance registers and advertisement of courses, workshops and programmes.
  • Drafting and responding to routine and more complex correspondence without reference to senior colleagues.
  • Organising and facilitating relevant meetings, preparing the agenda and taking minutes of meetings. Ensuring agendas and relevant materials are produced accurately and distributed in advance of regular and ad hoc meetings.
  • Providing excellent customer service when receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries, responding appropriately to professional and statutory agencies.
  • Preparing presentation materials.

  • Establish effective working relationships with the all members of the team and other relevant staff and organisations, ensuring effective communication and continuity of information throughout the team.
  • Administer timetables and action plans for various training meetings and ensure attendees are provided with this information.
  • Produce training material.
  • Ordering supplies as required.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the training requirements of nurses, nursing associates and paramedics in training.
