    Description

    Role: Financial Accountant

    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

    Location: Lacock, Wiltshire

    Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

    Stonegate Farmers are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Head Office team based at our facility in Wiltshire. As our Financial Accountant you will be responsible for all cash management and delivering all statutory, tax and regulatory reporting for the business. A subject matter expert in financial reporting and financial control, you will confidently lead and develop our transactional finance team.

Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK.

    Moving millions of mother nature's most fragile food items every day takes finesse and know how. We work closely with our producers to collect, grade and package each individual egg. So many fresh eggs requires fresh thinking therefore we only employ the most enthusiastic people for our operations, who have hearts of gold – just like our eggs

    We deliver daily from hen houses right across the country to the most exclusive restaurants and to many of the UK's leading supermarkets, together with first class egg products to some of the biggest names in food manufacturing.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Leadership and development of accounts payable and accounts receivable team
    • Lead on working capital and reviewing cash performance for the business
    • Cash management and cash forecasting for the business
    • Reconciliation of intercompany balances, balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to agreed month end timetable
    • Preparation of all statutory, tax and regulatory reporting
    • Monitoring and improving the internal financial control environment
    • Taking a proactive approach in improving processes, and business models
    • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required

    Person Specification:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Numerically literate
    • Self-starter
    • Experience of working to tight deadlines
    • Highly organised and able to priorities tasks

    Qualifications / Experience:

    • 5 years' experience in a similar role
    • ACA/ ACCA qualified
    • Strong accounting standards knowledge
    • Experience of preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and filing tax returns
    • Experience working with an ERP system and ability to pick this up easily
    • Experience of invoice discounting and asset finance
    • Confident in Excel and spreadsheet modelling
