An opportunity has arisen to join the dedicated team at a school in the Washwood Heath area as a full-time
SEND Teaching Assistant, where you will be enriching lives and unlocking potential in students.

The child works via EHCP and is on the Autistic Spectrum with speech and language difficulties.


Role:

Provide motivation and guidance to help pupils overcome obstacles in their learning:

Offering 1:1 support:

Coach students on a wide range of academic and pastoral topics:


  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the difficulties parents face and never underestimating the journey they are on


You will be able to start in the role immediately on a full-time basis where you will receive a rate of pay between £70 - £90 per day dependant on your experience and qualifications.

This is the perfect opportunity if you have a passion for supporting children and young people with their development with special requirements


Requirements:


You will have knowledge on the school curriculum and learning stages and hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

You will also have significant experience of working with SEND pupils with ASD/ADHD needs both 1:1 and in small groups, and a working knowledge of teaching targets from the broad areas of need within SEND, including targets from EHCPs and SSPPs.


Ideally you will have an in-date DBS registered to the update service; if you do not hold this, we can arrange for you at a cost of £44, which is refundable once you have completed ten days in your new role.


Beneficial traits for this role include patience, resilience and approachability; you also need to have the ability to communicate effectively with the SENDCO, class teacher, external agencies and parents about SEND pupils learning and progress.
