    Description

    Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust are establishing a state-of-the-art Logistics Services from Autumn 2024. The Continuous Improvement Manager is a key part of the new Logistics vision. With a focus on continuous improvement activities at all Trust sites the CI Manager will contribute towards safety, patient care and cost reduction targets.

    Main duties of the job The Continuous Improvement Manager will be the lead specialist for generating operational improvements within the Logistics Service that will deliver better care for our patients and cost savings for the Trust.

    The Continuous Improvement Manager will faclitate, support and lead the generation of improvement opportunities based on KPI, Cost, Performance and Quality defects.

    Working in collaboration with operational teams the Continuous Improvement Manager will identify improvement opportunities and develop a robust plan for the delivery of agreed or contractual improvement targets aligned to Trust development strategy About us Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately 600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.

    Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises.As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond). If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continuing your application with this understanding.The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

    1 Person Specification Experience Essential
    • Able to demonstrate significant savings / efficiency delivery in a challenging environment
    • Delivering innovative solutions
    • Delivering quality improvement methodology / continuous improvement tools e.g., six sigma, VSM
    • Project management experience
    • Experience of working within a 3PL or FMCG logistics environment
    • Inventory management
    Desirable
    • Experience of working within the NHS and an understanding of current issues.
    Qualifications Essential
    • Educated to master's level in a relevant subject area or equivalent qualification and / or experience
