    The Role

    At Oakwood Primary Academy, the pupils, staff and governing body are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational Reception / Early Years Teacher to join our fantastic team for September 2024. In the new academic year, we are excited to welcome two reception classes and are looking for an exceptional colleague to teach one of these classes.

    Oakwood Primary Academy is a two-form entry primary school in Eastbourne, for pupils aged 4-11. We currently have 305 pupils on roll. The majority of our pupils come from the local community – a community that means a great deal to our families and all the staff who work here.

    We are a school that has undergone huge, transformational change, having been rated as a 'Good' school, in all areas, at our most recent Ofsted inspection in October 2022. We are very proud of what has been achieved, but are committed in continuing to raise outcomes, standards and opportunities for all of our pupils.

    We are looking for:

  • A talented class-teacher to join our Early Years / Reception team, who has excellent subject knowledge and classroom practice.
  • Someone who is committed, dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching and improving standards and outcomes for the children who come to our school.
  • A teacher who is collaborative and is able to work well as part of a team and who enjoys learning themselves.
  • A teacher who is committed to helping children do their best, has a sense of humour and who loves teaching and working with children and their families.
  • A teacher who shares our values – has high expectations, is ambitious and creative.
  • A teacher who is reflective and committed to their own professional development.
