    Credit Controller – Law FirmHybrid working (1 or 2 days per week in Leeds Office)The CompanyOur client is a global leading Law Firm with offices around the world

    up to £28.5k plus Bonus (c5k) and a host of benefits and remote working:Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental and optical)Competitive vacation packagesEducational assistance and professional development programmesSavings or pension planLife insuranceTravel insuranceGlobal mental wellness programmeSports clubs and social eventsAbout the RoleThe Credit Controller will be based in the Leeds office 1-2 days per week with the rest working from home but within commutable distance to Leeds.

    They will focus on maximising client turnover and minimising bad debts whilst working as part of a team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in providing high level support to the Collections team whilst working within a fast paced environment.


    Primary responsibilities include:

    Day to day management of the assigned ledgerUnderstanding how KPIs are set and how best to achieve themBuilding relationships with partners and fee earners to ensure the collection policy is adhered to and escalate any problems clients, fee earners or debts to the management teamTo be able to correctly identify clients that default on payment terms and to liaise with the lawyers/partners on the most appropriate course of action to take, taking into account the profile of the clientMaintaining detailed and accurate notes regarding debtors on the firms internal system and ensuring the team leader is equipped with the relevant data on the Credit Controller's assigned ledgerHave a good understanding of the client and the nature of their businessHolding regular meetings with Practice Group Heads and PartnersExperience NeededWe are looking for people who have at least 2-3 years experience in a fully-fledged Credit Control role.

    Ideally but not essentially from professional services business managing a larger ledger with high value accounts.


    Also desirable are:

    Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and produce quality work within tight deadlinesStrong communicator together with effective negotiation skills both with clients and the lawyers/partnersAble to interact positively at all levels within a law firm and be a team playerConfident using MS Office, including Work and ExcelMaintain a strong attention to detail and the ability to deal with confidential matter with discretionCan demonstrate initiative and the ability to be proactive, while also being able to follow instructionsDeliver a 'can do' and proactive approach at all time Recognition One and its client are proud to be equal opportunity employers.
