    Description

    Cambridge Mechatronics Limited (CML) is a multi-disciplinary company, developing camera module solutions utilising our cutting-edge shape memory alloy (SMA) technology. Our technology is shipping in top tier flagship smartphones, as well as inside drones, wearable devices, and other consumer products.

    We have approximately 700 granted and pending patents based around our platform technology, which allows the control, positioning and movement of smart materials with high precision.

    CML's SMA wire is thinner than the width of a human hair and can be positioned with the accuracy of the wavelength of light. CML is the only company in the world to master and control these materials with such exceptional accuracy.

    The Person

    We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious quality engineer to join our growing team of world-class engineers, who will make their mark on our smart actuator technology. The role will report to the Director of Global Applications & Engineering Delivery.

    We are looking for someone who is passionate, interested and interesting. You will need to be able to play a role in a highly skilled team, finding efficient ways to solve problems and ensure quality whilst balancing the needs of multiple products and projects.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide formal and informal auditing of our processes and delivery in readiness for certification.
    • Drive and co-ordinate 8D reporting.
    • Generate and publish quality metrics and trends.
    • Continuous improvement to ensure and maintain our high-quality product deliveries.

    Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

    • BSc or BEng in Electronic/Mechanics/Software Engineering or other relevant degree course
    • 3 years demonstrable experience in a relevant quality assurance role serving high volume electronic manufacturing.
    • A high level of competence, integrity, determination, and communication
    • Sound knowledge of defect tracking.
    • Understanding of mechanical systems
    • Previous experience working in commercialisation of a product.
    • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum continuous development software life cycle models
    • Version Control
    • Experience of Electronic hardware
    • An understanding of control system elements (sensors, actuators, controllers) would be useful.
    • ISO 9001: 2015 lead auditor
