This role is essential to support their evolving investment activities and to ensure that they continue to uphold the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance.
As the organization continues to grow, they recognize the need for dedicated legal expertise to navigate the complexities of fund formation, structuring, and compliance, thereby enabling them to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks effectively.
Our client is seeking a talented lawyer to join their team as a Legal Counsel with a focus on private funds.
Based in their London office with the potential for remote work once integrated, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the client's investment activities, with a specific emphasis on fund formation, structuring, and compliance matters.
Provide legal guidance and support on all aspects of private fund formation and operations, including fund structuring, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
# Collaborate closely with investment professionals and external advisors to ensure legal and regulatory compliance throughout the investment process.# Stay informed about developments in relevant laws and regulations impacting private funds and investment activities, providing strategic advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
# Support the legal needs of the broader organization, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, corporate governance matters, and other legal issues as they arise, such as:
Reviewing and advising on commercial contracts, including supply agreements, licensing agreements, and service agreements.
Assisting in the management of legal risks associated with day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and policies related to fund management and investment activities.
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or foreign equivalent from a reputable university.
# Qualified solicitor with admission to the Law Society of England and Wales or another Common Law jurisdiction.
# Minimum of 3 years of experience working in private funds within a leading corporate law firm.
# Strong understanding of private fund structures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
# Experience in drafting and negotiating fund-related agreements and conducting legal due diligence.
# Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
