The Role:
To ensure vehicles on days run as efficiently as possible whilst maximising revenue


Remuneration & Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week with 30minute unpaid break
  • One week in every 9 Saturday morning rota (paid as overtime)
  • Core hours worked between
  • 28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays
  • Pension Scheme.

  • Salary negotiable dependant on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all deliveries and collections are made from the Glasgow depot each day and agreed KPI's are met.
  • Focus throughout day on timed / priority deliveries and collections.
  • Liaise with drivers regularly throughout day throughout day.
  • Keep relevant traffic systems up to date throughout day.
  • Liaise with warehouse colleagues throughout day.
  • Use systems to assist in maximising vehicle resource and utilisation.
  • Work with other WMA departments, Palletforce Members and Network.
  • To promote best practice in maintaining high levels of Customer Service
  • You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the
  • Report any accidents / incidents to 1st Line Manager
  • You must comply with and promote all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  • Promote Wm. Armstrong in line with current company values, beliefs and branding.
  • Undertake such other duties that are required from time to time commensurate with this position.
Skills/Knowledge

  • Previous experience of working in a fastpaced transport environment before
  • Previous traffic office experience essential
  • Detailed knowledge of G / ML postcode areas desirable
  • Previous experience of Pallet Networks desirable
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Uk desirable
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good telephone manner
  • Be a team player
  • Good communication Skills
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)
