Band/Pay rate:
£14.92 per hour


Hours:
Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

NHS Professionals require pro-active and hardworking individuals to work as part of the facilities team at Sheffield Children's Hospital.


The Role
We are looking to recruit a temporary Health and Safety Advisor to work at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

You will be reporting to the Health and Safety Manager and will work as part of the integrated governance structure supporting delivery of all aspectsof H&S and risk management.


Duties may include but not limited to:

  • Provide expert, advice and support on health & safety issues.
  • Act as a competent advisor in relation to all health and safety matters as required for compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations and other related legislation
  • Undertake the routine and conduct daytoday scrutiny of reported health and safety related incidents, instigating and advising on proportionate followup investigations as required.
  • Monitor the outcomes of health and safety related investigation and make informed decisions to reduce the severity of incidents.
  • Establish collaborative links with departments throughout the Trust to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to providing safe systems, procedures.
  • Assist, support and advise managers within the Trust to fulfil their responsibilities around proactive risk assessments.
  • Assist and advise on health and safety related standards from external programmes and support the health and Safety Manager in ensuring the required policies and procedures are in place.
  • You will also be required to assist and support the health and safety Manager in their role as the Medical Devices Safety
Officer (MDSO), overseeing administration of CAS/MDA/MHRA alerts and FSN's.


Skills Required:


  • Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role or similar role
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • A comprehensive knowledge of current health and safety legislation, management and standards
  • NHS experience desirable but not essential
  • Reliable and hard working with good communication skills
