Home Tutor - Enfield, Greater London, United Kingdom - LTS Group
Description
LTS Group is based in Enfield and we are currently looking for tutors to work on a 1:1 basis to support young people with additional needs who are currently not accessing full time education. Our role is to support and teach our students in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. We will then aim to support the student to transition back into full time education. This is our passion, so if you share this passion and feel you have lots to offer, then carry on reading to the end
School life can be very stressful for children with additional needs be it autism (ASD), social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) or any disability that prevents a child from achieving
We have a variety of roles to fill and we are particularly keen to hear from those in the education sector, although we also consider talented and suitably qualified candidates from other sectors including youth work, coaching/mentoring or other similar fields. The most important attribute we are looking for is an ability to engage and motivate young people to help them improve their life chances.
We are looking for outreach tutors to deliver learning in the student's home or in a local library during school hours. The learning takes place in across Enfield and neighbouring borooughs and requires delivery of lessons to SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) students (all Key Stages)
The work is varied and can be extremely rewarding for those who know how to get the best out of young people. Numerous teachers and those who may have had a responsible supporting role have already made the transition from full time to part time work in order to have more flexibility and a more flexible life style, with more time to focus on their own well-being.
All candidates without a relevant teaching qualification will be fully supported by an experienced teacher in the delivery of academic material and will have access to an unlimited online resource of teaching materials. The role often involves working with both the student and their families, so will require an awareness of social issues which may impact the welfare for the child.
If you feel you have the relevant skills and qualifications and you can demonstrate previous success in supporting young people with additional needs (Reception – 25 years) then we would love to hear from you.
As the focus is primarily on education, we require candidates to have achieved a suitable level in both English and maths. Graduates with limited experience will also be considered.
I hope we have given you food for thought and you are considering joining our existing team of professionals. If so, then please contact us to find out even more.
Key skills required:
LTS Group Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all successful applicants are expected to share this commitment and will be subject to our stringent vetting process including reference and background checks and necessary qualifications. You must either be on the DBS Update Service or willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS check.
If you have been a UK resident for less than 5 years, a right to work visa must be provided and a criminal background check must also be provided for any country you have resided in for 6 months or more within the last 5 years.
LTS promotes equal opportunities and we welcome applications from everyone with suitable skills regardless of race, colour, gender disability, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief. All applications will be accepted and reviewed solely on merit
