Job description:


Rosa is a central government IT system that enables collaborative working at SECRET in a secure environment with the latest technologies.

Rosa provides fixed and mobile SECRET collaboration tools and communications in 166 countries across the globe, allowing users to create and share data securely.

This ground-breaking work is protecting our national security whilst enabling users to work in far better ways than any previous solutions have allowed in this space.

Person specification:


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of strategic and tactical technology road maps, aligned with both current best practice and the organization.
  • Work with your Team Lead to engineer technical solutions according to our road maps.
  • Work, in partnership, with our product owners and operational teams to maintain and integrate technologies with RSO platforms to protect and manage mission critical systems.
  • Ensure, in partnership with others in the organization, that all technologies within own area meet or exceed the RSO internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Produce and maintain documentation of systems for the usage of each technology.
  • Follow our internal technology development life cycle processes in the development of all technologies.
  • Develop and follow all applicable operational processes.
  • Liaise with, any thirdparty partners delivery of components and implement support options for relevant parts of the infrastructure.
  • Assist the wider team, and organization where required to do so, within in areas of own expertise and experience.
  • Provide a third line support function for the applicable technologies.
  • Participate to your full potential in our vibrant, dynamic and exciting team.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Linux related technologies such that you are proficient in installation and system administration tasks.
  • Experience with Linux scripting languages, for example Bash or Python.
  • Strong, evidence based, troubleshooting abilities and an eye for detail.
  • Must be a selfstarter and work productively with mínimal supervision alone and in collaboration with own team and others around the organization.
  • Familiarity in Agile/DevOps working practice within a similarly skilled technical team.
  • Must demonstrate an enthusiastic, cando approach working productively both alone and in collaboration with team and others around the organization.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of opensource monitoring tools such as Nagios or Zabbix.
  • Experience of opensource automation tools such as puppet, chef, salt or ansible.
  • A relevant STEM, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or Systems Engineering qualification; or equivalent related qualifications or experience.
