    Senior Planning Engineer

    Location: Hybrid, with 2-3 days in Birmingham

    Turner Lovell are hiring for a rapidly expanding international EPC contractor who possesses a solid portfolio of HVDC, HV-A,C, and offshore wind projects throughout the UK and Europe.

    We are seeking a Senior Project Planning professional with a robust background in HV Transmission & Distribution to actively contribute to project management by facilitating planning, scheduling, and control processes. Providing insightful advice, support, and clear communication for effective decision-making.

    The ideal candidate must have hands-on construction site experience, advanced knowledge of Primavera 6, and confidence in supporting contract variations and claims.

    The successful candidate will hold the position of Senior Planning Engineer and should possess expertise in:

    • Experience in planning major turnkey infrastructure projects
    • Proficiency in Primavera P6
    • Understanding of risk management processes and tools
    • Capability to manage small teams within large projects
    • Familiarity with cost control functions and interface with schedules on substantial turnkey projects
    • Relevant industry knowledge within the Renewable Energy / Power Generation sector
    • Application of forensic analysis on significant turnkey projects

    This role involves:

    • Gaining approval for the project baseline from clients and internal stakeholders
    • Forecasting project schedules and resources throughout project lifecycles
    • Identifying and communicating schedule risks, proposing risk mitigation strategies
    • Collaborating with the Risk Manager to identify potential schedule and cost risks
    • Validating and communicating task durations and logic
    • Providing project status reports to internal and external stakeholders
    • Managing project schedule interfaces with 3rd parties
    • Ensuring accuracy in time-related calculations for change order estimates
    • Leading a team of Project Planning Engineers on complex projects
    • Taking full responsibility for planning output in project controls
    • Collaborating with task and resource owners to optimize project efficiency
    • Enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the project controls team
