    Digital Design Lead (UK)

    Role Purpose:-

    The Digital Design (BIM) Lead will lead the Digital Design team in the UK and ensure the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) throughout GHD's entire UK & Workshare business operations.

    You will manage a team of BIM professionals who are responsible for creating and managing Building Information Models (BIM) for GHD's projects, focusing on the production of information models predominantly within the design stages.

    Responsible for leading the Digital Design (BIM) team to improve communication, collaboration, and coordination among project stakeholders, reduce errors, improve cost and schedule performance, and to enhance the overall quality of the information models GHD produce.

    The role will be based from one our UK offices, but we do operate a hybrid working environment, which provides the opportunity to work from any of our other UK offices and from home

    Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of the Digital Design function in the UK, ensuring best in class digital design and high quality, reliable and on-time delivery.
  • Partners with Business leaders to understand the ongoing delivery requirements and develops the function in line with UK's vision and strategy.
  • Develop and implement the BIM strategy and business plan for the organization, including identifying the business objectives, goals, and requirements for the BIM Team.
  • Drives the development of BIM models and is accountable for ensuring the adoption of standardized BIM processes amongst teams.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of BIM and remains up-to-date with new BIM software, techniques, and best practices, and ensuring that the organization or project is taking advantage of these advancements. Ensures alignment and consistency of delivery performance across the Digital Design teams and DWS.
  • Ensures that BIM is used effectively and efficiently across the organization and projects advocating its use to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manages the project delivery interface between Project and Design Managers and the BIM team lead / project lead modelers to report on progress and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Manages the business development interface between BIM team lead / project lead modelers and support teams such as software champions to maintain the right competencies throughout the team.
  • Accountable for overseeing all BIM deliverables before they are submitted to clients or other stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess and improve the BIM processes to ensure that they are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives and that they are meeting the needs of stakeholders.

    • Leadership

  • Contributes directly into the business plan for the Region, and develops and oversees the execution of a business plan for own location / operational area.
  • Forecasts revenue, FTE's, within own Region, for input into consolidated business plan to deliver against business priorities.
  • Influences business decisions at Region level.
  • Supports and coaches Team Leaders to deliver on business performance and key metrics.;
  • Develops short and long-term capability requirements, informing the acquisition of skills to support future growth;
  • Leads and grows highly engaged and high performing teams, acting as a custodian of company culture and values.

    • Specific experience, skills & knowledge:-

  • A strong understanding of BIM software and technologies, as well as experience using BIM tools and processes.
  • Ability to set direction, communicate strategy and inspire confidence.
  • Capacity to deal with complexity in an operational environment.
  • Ability to deal with (lead and manage through) ambiguity and change.
  • Capacity to make sound commercial decisions that balance the needs of our people, shareholders and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including different disciplines and supply chains (contractors and suppliers).
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience and proven ability to obtain buy-in /support for change from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capability to adapt to new technologies, processes, and workflows as they emerge in the BIM industry.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles.
