We are recruiting a Credit Controller at our Head Office in Hebburn who will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability of the company by managing the credit and collections process efficiently.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintaining a log of cash collection expectations throughout the month.
  • Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through credit checks.
  • Negotiate payment plans or settlements with customers in arrears while remaining professional.
  • Monitor payment arrangements and take appropriate action for noncompliance.
  • Raise payment requests for customer refunds.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies or billing disputes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoicing or payment discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment statuses.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on their account status and payment obligations.
  • Check & process customer credit limits, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure general filing is maintained, electronically where possible.
  • Answer the overflow telephone in a timely manner, screen and direct calls.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Essential_
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, minimum of 2 years' experience in Credit Control.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills in a fastpaced environment.
  • Preferred_
  • Accounts background.
  • Experience of working in the construction, manufacturing or similar industry.
