    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Wood is looking for Lead Onshore Pipeline Engineers to join our team supporting onshore pipeline and facilities projects in our Technical Consulting Division. This role will be based in our Aberdeen office with hybrid working options.

    The Role

    As a Lead Onshore Pipelines Engineer, you will oversee and manage pipeline projects from concept to completion, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective design and operation of onshore pipeline systems. Collaboration with teams, client engagement, and adherence to industry standards is key.

    Our projects extend across the UK, Europe, Africa, and globally. Embracing the Net Zero goals, we focus on Onshore pipelines servicing Hydrogen and CO2 alongside various other energy projects.

    Delivering projects that support energy transition, our team handles diverse sectors from short pipelines to cross-country pipelines with innovative solutions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Responsibilities:

    The role involves:
    • Leading onshore pipeline design
    • Knowledge of pipeline codes and standards
    • Direct client interaction and project management
    • Managing teams and ensuring adherence to project requirements
    • Leading site visits and documentation development
    • Procurement processes and bid evaluations
    • Timely and budget-compliant project completion
    • Supporting development and continuous improvement
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Engineering degree or chartered engineer status
    • Experience in Senior/Lead Engineering roles on Pipeline Projects
    • Proficiency in mechanical and civil design, project execution, and FEED
    • Track record in pipeline projects with major facilities
    • Experience in temporary works design and planning
    • Expertise in pipeline design software and material selection
    • Familiarity with industry requirements and construction processes
    • Construction experience advantageous
    • Experience with UK operators preferred
