- Plan your own diary, typically looking to visit new and existing clients 3-4 days a week with roughly 60/40 split between account management and new business
- Work with the sales team to develop ongoing sales strategy
- Service Key Accounts, visiting these clients regularly to ensure their requirements are fully understood, and the appropriate solutions provided, as well as showcasing new products and services
- Look to develop new business relationships with potential clients
- Identify new markets for current and new solutions
- Oversee the activities of two technical sales engineers, often attending client meetings together
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators

Are you a business development manager or similar, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and / or materials handling, seeking a truly autonomous role where you will be based remotely, managing your own diary and travelling out to reputable clients across the North and Midlands, working with a true market leader which has set the standard in their industry, providing a generous offer of uncapped commission and annual tax free bonus which could see you earning over £80k from year one?
Are you looking to partner with major global brands within automotive, aerospace and similar industries, such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, Honeywell and Mitsubishi, providing leading edge products which add value, in a role which combines key account management with the generation of new business, where you will be the master of your own destiny, in a pivotal role for the organisation?
The company is an employee-owned business, serving manufacturing, distribution and logistics across the UK and Europe. They are the most successful business in their field in the UK for the manufacture of a diverse range of bespoke materials handling solutions. Now looking to capitalize on recent success, with the aim of increasing their turnover from £8m to £10m in the next few years, they are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead sales activities in the North and Midlands.
You will be responsible for travelling out to client sites 3-4 days a week, meeting with new and existing customers to understand their current manufacturing processes, and offer relevant solutions / showcase the company's capabilities. You will also look to develop ongoing sales strategy and ensure that the best solutions are developed for the client base. Additionally, you will manage the activities of two technical sales engineers also based in the North / Midlands.
